On a recent visit, we lucked out. When you’re using the internet to choose somewhere to stay, it’s pretty much a hit-and-miss affair. Sure, there are some photos to give you a sense of the place, but photos can often be outrageously flattering, making a place look much better than it really is.
So when confronted with 30 or more options – almost all of them, predictably in this star-mad village, named for stars, constellations or planets – we took a stab in the dark and settled on The Galaxy B&B.

It turned out to be a great choice, not so much for the cottage itself – though that was great too – but for the friendly, helpful Karoo welcome we received from Betsie and Kobus Muller.
